
Hospice of Northeastern Illinois
Compared to many of our more industrial clients, the Hospice identity, particularly their logo, presented Streng with a genuinely challenging question: How to design a logo for an organization that ministers to the terminally ill, while avoiding iconographic clichés and devastating images of grief. To create a logo that exudes an image of care, respect, and comfort Streng turned to soft edges, round, open type fonts, and layers of cradling strokes that can be interpreted to represent warmth, family, and the passage of time. A complete graphic branding of Hospice continued with brochures, associated foundation logos. A graphic standards manual was created to clarify for all future partners the correct way to create and use Hospice of Northeastern Illinois materials.
